2012 Audio Book Challenge Hosted by Teresa’s Reading Corner

The challenge is to listen to audiobooks throughout the year. I'm signing up for the "Flirting level", which is 6 books. I might be able to do more, but for now, let's keep it simple. I'm going to also include audiobooks where I "read" some part of the book, too, as long as more than 50% was listened to via audiobook.

Most of these will probably be memoirs.

1. Tina Fey - Bossypants
2. Julie Cross - Tempest
3. Ellen - Seriously, I'm Kidding
4.

6.

Are you an avid series reader? Do you want to give a few new series a try? Then this is the reading challenge for you! Participants in the 1st in a Series Challenge decide to start a certain number of series in 2012 and then share their reviews with the community!
(This challenge has previously been hosted at J. Kaye’s Book Blog, Royal Reviews, and A Few More Pages)
Interested in joining the fun? Here are the guidelines:
1. Anyone can join. You don’t need a blog to participate. If you’re not a blogger, you can post your reviews at a review site like Goodreads, LibraryThing, or Shelfari and link them up here. 2. There are four levels for this challenge:
Series Novice: Read 3 books that are the first in any series.
Series Lover: Read 6 books that are the first in any series.
Series Expert: Read 12 books that are the first in any series.
Series Fanatic: Read 20 books that are the first in any series.
You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you. Any genre counts. Any book format counts. 3. The challenge runs from January 1 through December 31, 2012. 4. You can join anytime between now and December 31, 2012.
5. A post will be created here where you can link-up your reviews and visit the reviews of other participants.
6. If you’re a blogger, write up a sign-up post that includes the URL to this post so that others can join in. Feel free to use the button! You can grab the code you need from the box in the right sidebar.
If you write up a sign-up post, enter the direct link to that post when you sign up here so we can find it easily. Otherwise, link away!
The goal is to read firsts in any series. I have a feeling a lot of these are going to be YA. I'm signing up for the "Series Lover" level, which is 6 books.

1. Angelfall #1
2. Boyfriend List (Ruby Oliver #1)
3. Blue Bloods #1
4. Tempest #1
5. Fellowship of the Ring (Lord of the Rings #1)
6.

I wonder if I can do 12? I'm not sure, so I'll stop at 6, but I'll list my other series as I see fit..

The goal is to read books that correspond to a TV show. I'm signing up for the "Mini-series" level, which is books based on 2 different tv shows. I'll probably read a book from the Sookie Stackhouse series, and a book from Pretty Little Liars. I doubt I'll have the patience to read Song of Fire and Ice, but it would be nice.

The What an Animal Reading Challenge IV ends at the end of this month on February 29th. Our new challenge will begin on March 1, 2012 and end on February 28, 2013. The rules are really simple...

1. Read at least 6 books that have any of the following requirements:

a. there is an animal in the title of the book

b. there is an animal on the cover of the book

c. an animal plays a major role in the book

d. a main character is (or turns into) an animal (define that however you'd like).

2. The animal can be any type of animal (real or fictitious)--dog, cat, monkey, wolf, snake, insect, hedgehog, aardvark...dragon, mermaid, centaur, vampire, werewolf...you get the idea...

3. Challenge runs from March 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013. That’s a full year to read at least 6 books (you can read more if you’d like). You can still sign up after March 1st as long as you can get 6 books read by February 28, 2013).

4. Books can be fiction or nonfiction.

5. You may make a list of books at the beginning of the challenge or you can just list them as you find them.

6. Book titles may be swapped out at anytime (assuming you made a list to begin with).

7. Crossovers with other challenges are permitted and encouraged.

8. You don't have to have a blog or write a review, but you can if you want to.
If you don't have a blog, just post in the comment section that you'd like to join. You can post your books in there.

9. Books can be in any format of your choice (print, audio, ebooks)
